Shopify → Google ID check

Trace sold item IDs that do not match Merchant Center.

Paste Shopify-style item IDs, split the label, product ID, and variant ID, then compare them with the custom IDs in your Merchant Center source. The list stays in your browser.

Local ID parser

Paste Shopify-style Merchant Center IDs.

One ID per line, or separate them with commas. Nothing is uploaded.

Expected pattern: shopify_[label]_[product ID]_[variant ID]
01

Start with the mismatched sold-item export

Use the Google Ads or Merchant Center diagnostic that lists the IDs it could not match. Work on the affected subset instead of renaming every item.

02

Separate Shopify product and variant IDs

Parse values such as shopify_US_PRODUCT_VARIANT and compare the product and variant components with the source that actually owns the Merchant Center item.

03

Check for two ID namespaces

If conversion tracking sends Shopify IDs while a manual feed stores custom IDs, the parser proves the difference but does not change either system. Test one affected variant before bulk edits.

Next step

Parsed components are evidence, not a reason to rewrite IDs.

Compare the active Merchant Center item ID with Shopify's product and variant IDs. If you have an affected-products export, use FeedPatch to join those IDs back to exact source rows before editing anything.

Frequently asked

Before changing a product ID.

What format does this parse?

The parser recognizes shopify_[label]_[product ID]_[variant ID], including common shopify_US and shopify_ZZ examples. It reports other values as unrecognized instead of guessing.

Is the label always a country?

Do not assume that from the string alone. Treat it as the label segment supplied in the ID and compare it with the active data source and final attributes in Merchant Center.

Will changing a product ID preserve history?

Google recommends keeping product IDs stable. A changed ID is treated as a new product and its previous performance history is not carried over.

Are the IDs uploaded?

No. Parsing and CSV generation happen in your browser. FeedPatch records only aggregate action counts, never the IDs you paste.

What should I do with the parsed IDs?

Compare the product and variant components with Shopify, then use the free FeedPatch issue matcher when you need to join an affected-products CSV back to exact source-feed rows.

Why can Google Ads sold item IDs fail to match Merchant Center?

A common cause is two ID namespaces: Shopify conversion tracking may send shopify_[label]_[product]_[variant] while a manual or custom Merchant Center source stores another value. Compare a small affected sample first; do not rename the whole feed until you know which system owns each ID.
